Most people underestimate how much they spend on cannabis. Between flower, vape carts, edibles, and concentrates, the weekly total adds up faster than you'd think.

This calculator breaks down your spending by consumption method and shows you exactly how much you could save — whether you're quitting entirely, cutting back, or taking a tolerance break.

Add each method you use. We'll calculate costs for each.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this calculator?

The calculator uses your self-reported spending. Most people find their actual spend is 10-20% higher than they initially estimate — we tend to undercount smaller purchases, accessories, and impulse buys. Use this as a starting point, then track your real spending with Turn the Leaf for a more accurate picture.

What does "cut in half" actually mean for savings?

Selecting "cut my use in half" assumes you'll reduce both the frequency and amount you use by 50%. Your savings projection is half of what you'd save by quitting entirely. In practice, many people find that reducing frequency is easier than reducing amount per session.

Why break it down by consumption method?

Different methods have very different cost profiles. Concentrates and dabs tend to cost more per session but may be used less frequently. Flower is cheaper per session but often consumed more frequently. By separating methods, you get a realistic picture of where your money actually goes — which helps you decide where to cut back first.

How is the investment projection calculated?

The 5-year investment figure assumes a 7% average annual return, which is roughly the historical average of the S&P 500 after inflation. It compounds your annual savings over 5 years. This is illustrative — actual returns vary. The point is that saved money has significant long-term value when invested.

Can I share my results?

Yes. After calculating, you'll see "Share your result" and "Download as image" buttons. The share card is formatted for Reddit, Twitter/X, and Instagram — it shows your yearly savings figure with a link back to this calculator. No personal data is included in the share card.
